Award for Sara Lundin (Sweden) EBU Master School

posted 29 Nov 09

Dear Friends,

Since a few hours a new star is to be paved  on the walk of fame of creative radio. Sara Lundin from Swedisch Radio, and one of our gifted talents of the latest EBU Master School for Radio.

My rainy end of a sunday was enlighted ( and I'm sure our capitaine Nathalie Labourdette's from EBU also) by this mail from Lisbeth Jessen ( Denmark and Sara's coach) :

"EBU Master School on Radio features ...

http://www.facebook.com/pages/EBU-Master-School-on-Radio-features/98303149966?ref=mf ... Congratulation to Sara Lundin from Sweden.

That clever girl has been given a prize for her voice, narration, tone, style from Swedish authors! Each year these authors award one voice that bears something unique in it. They found it in Sara's many radio features. We also know it in the EBU MS from the feature Sara Lundin made as "student" of the 2008-2009 EBU Master School.

So this is fantastic for her. She is completely overwhelmed. As I wrote - it is not a prize you can be nominated or candidate for - it is just given!
Last year the prize went to a very know old Swedish radio man - very known by everybody....

So that they pick up Sara's young voice and tone this year is SO promising."

All the best from

Lisbeth"

How wise was this authors jury! They rewarded a voice. The Masterschool is all about a personal voice and offering the possibilities to develop its strenght, its beauty and its honesty. It's own song.
Dear Sara, we are so proud!
Warm regards also to your family as they were so closely involved in this production.

RADIO IS SOUND ... Radio feature authors have nothing but their voice (in the widest sense) … And as we know from other fields: less can be more. To cradle unique voices like Sara's is one of the most important options radio has within the confusing mess of "information" bits and video clips and global noise. It's a clever signal Swedish authors send to the world by decorating the individuality of an author every year.

Sincere congratulations to Sara (and also to Lisbeth, her restless coach, and to our caring and  fertile nurse: the EBU)

Helmut
