A few days ago I was going back home from work by taxi.It happens quite often when I’m editing features until late at night.

This time I came across an unusual taxi driver who seemed to be quite interested in what I do in radio."You just had some night program on the radio, didn't you?" – he asked.

"Actually, I was finishing my new feature with an editor" - I replied, certain that the conversation would end here.

"You make features! That's incredible! You must be very happy, then!" he exclaimed. "Why ?" – this time I was the surprised one. "Because you never get bored, you meet interesting people, every time you tell a completely different story...".

"Most of the time I listen, you know". "Just like me! We have a lot in common then!".
In the rear-view mirror I saw a glint of satisfaction in the man’s  eyes.

Kasia Michalak (b.1972 ) works for Polish Radio (Regional Broadcasting Station - Radio Lublin SA ), in the Documentary Department. Kasia won the Prix Europa Radio Osterreich 2005 (with Monika Hemperek), and Prix Italia Venice 2006.
